In 1927, Kurbatov started creating sculpture of Lenin for the museum of the Lenin Institute. It was made of colored, especially solid mass, invented by the sculptor himself. On January 17, 1935, the sculpture was shown in the October Hall of the Marx-Engels-Lenin Institute.
