The beginning of 1917 was characterized by the rapid growth of the revolutionary workers’ movement. During a short period of the Provisional Government in power, a large number of various tokens and commemorative medals were minted. They were produced by private enterprises and sold freely. Tokens clearly reflected the revolutionary spirit and mood in society, being in fact revolutionary propaganda.
