This work is considered a classic example of the embodiment of the symbolic image of the Leader.
Gerasimov began working on the painting in 1928, and finished it to the 60th anniversary of the birth of V. I. Lenin. This artistic embodiment of the leader’s image was and remains, by all accounts, one of the best works of the artistic Leniniana.
